<br /> Paul said there is one major component missing that is fit up - furnishing
<br /> and high tech . This Committee has a lot of concern about high tech, how
<br /> would you handle it?
<br /> Mr. Rowlands said they would select a reputable company that we have
<br /> experience with as a consultant.
<br /> Paul asked if they would give this Committee a list of consultants to
<br /> discuss?
<br /> They responded they will draw up a list of the Committee's needs and
<br /> together can select the best match .
<br /> Merry Sue said she it intrigued by the word constructability, can he talk
<br /> more about it.
<br /> Tony Esteves said Beacon will look at all aspects of a building , they have
<br /> a full range of knowledge. They will provide the Committee with information
<br /> and allow them to make the choice , the decisions are yours .
<br /> Bill Martiros asked if they , the project manager, becomes responsible for a
<br /> mistake that slipped through , a grey area?
<br /> Mr. Aitchison said they will seek to make sure the architect meets his
<br /> responsibility , we will get redress from the architect.
<br /> Ms . Scarlet added they will look for blatant errors, they will review to
<br /> some level of detail but no one will catch everything. It is best for the
<br /> . Committee to establish criteria that you can give to the architect so it is
<br /> clear if that criteria has not been met.

<br /> end, through construction?
<br /> Mr. Aitchison said that is an option .
<br /> Paul explained , based on advise from counsel , the Committee has the option ,
<br /> if we are not happy with them to end it at that point. This is an incentive
<br /> for them to do a good job.

<br /> architect, Frank Tedesco, architect with Mount Vernon Group, Mike Hickey ,
<br /> Crowley engineering, Dave Gills , structural engineer, Ben Gary, landscape,
<br /> civil engineering to address site, permitting environmental issues.
<br /> Mr. Wade explained this team has experience on well over 100 schools in MA.
<br /> Examples of recent projects , Lawrence high school , 200 , 000 sq feet,
<br /> Garfield school , 260, 000 sq feet, Oak Bluffs school , 100,000 sq feet about
<br /> to go int construction phase , Wellfleet addition and renovation.
<br /> This team knows school construction in MA, and has worked together over
<br /> many years .
<br /> Mr . Wade said they see their role as manager of the project, facilitator
<br /> and communicator. They will act as communicator between all town boards
<br /> and organizations who have an interest in the school , the Board of
<br /> Selectmen, School Committee, Finance Committee, Leisure Services, parents ,
<br /> teachers and students .
<br /> The opportunities for making decisions which will have the greatest effect
<br /> are in the early phases . It is more difficult and expensive to make
