Total cost starting point us $23 ,414, 559 which is an overrun of $3, 284, 559. Chartwell figured the square footage at 182 ,000. This document says it is 184,000, which Ray says is not correct. The building is on CAD, which says it is just under 183,000 sq feet. Daedalus explained their calculations were taken off by hand and he is not surprised by a small deviation like this. Ray said if you deduct the 1 ,000 sq feet cost you can reduce $200,000 right off the top. Ed asked if everyone wants to go with this estimate or come to an agreement on some amount to reduce it by? Tom Wren noted it is only a 1% deviation . It will not make an appreciable difference. Everyone can keep in mind that it is there. Bob noted there will be a variation between contractors bidding the job. The Committee agreed to work with the estimate as presented. The September estimate stood at $21 . 3 million after deduction of $2 .47 in value management savings from the schematic design estimate of $23 . 8 million. There is now a $3 . 28 million overrun.
