Delete 118 parking spaces . 90 spaces have already been deleted. <br /> Dan spoke with Falmouth High , they provide 58% of the seniors with parking <br /> stickers and 18% of the junior class . Merry Sue suggested removing the <br /> parking from the top, down. They reviewed the parking areas. <br /> 58% and 18% of Mashpee's senior and juniors will be 173 students, plus 100 <br /> faculty. The Committee agreed they want to keep at least 300 spaces. <br /> ** Bill made a motion to reduce the parking to 300 spaces. Joe <br /> seconded it. All members were in favor. <br /> 10. The Committee agreed there can be less sidewalk. Dan will work on it. <br /> 11 . Courtyard - Dan suggested bituminous with an adhesive and stone then <br /> rolled into it - it will look good. <br /> All members were in favor of deleting concrete sidewalk in courtyard. <br /> 12 . Irrigation . Paul said Wellesley is now digging up all their fields to <br /> put in irrigation systems . The $77 ,000 does not include the fields , only <br /> the area around the building . Paul thinks we will pay the price for not <br /> having it. Hold. <br /> 13. Dan said he can reduce the concrete sidewalk quantity by $11 , 000 and <br /> keep the sidewalks. <br /> 14. Cape Cod berm. Paul suggested they look at Christ the King church , <br /> they used a turned down slab. Dan said that is a great idea for the area <br /> with sidewalks Cape Cod berm can be used elsewhere, including parking lot <br /> islands. <br /> 15 . Remove 50% of entry light poles. They reviewed the plan. SMMA can keep <br /> a decent light level . This still meets the Code. The Committee agreed . <br /> 17 . Eliminate islands - Paul suggested leaving this to Dan , do some <br /> revision to get it down to budget. Committee agreed to eliminate the <br /> $12 , 000 . <br /> 18. Eliminate portion of perimeter road north of bus drop off. <br /> Dan said as it is, it is a model bus drop off, he recommends keeping it as <br /> is. Ray said he is not convinced the bus route would work. The Committee <br /> agreed to leave it as it is. <br /> (Cut $812 ,000 so far) <br /> Tom Wren said chartwell suggested reducing the thickness of the paving, and <br /> still be acceptable to code, for an estimated savings of $92 ,000 . <br /> Joel said they will review that when the geotechnical report is complete. <br /> BUILDING <br /> 1 . Delete carpet in classrooms - Committee does not agree. <br /> 2 . Wood panel at gym and auditorium entry and use painted block . Hold . <br /> 3 . Building needs window treatment - Committee does not agree. <br /> 4. Committee agreed the architects should suggest a less expensive <br /> acoustical wall treatment. It will not be an offensive looking treatment. <br /> Bill said the entry areas- cafeteria auditorium should be special - look <br /> good . <br /> Ed said it is a dilemma, if it is something they can paint it looks good <br /> but requires more maintenance costs.
