Committed : construction , design improvements and off site improvements= <br /> $19 , 290 , 000 . FF & E at $4 . 7 million (which is subject to debate ) <br /> Paul asked if the Committee was comfortable with these numbers and ready to <br /> proceed? <br /> They are , but not committed to the $4 . 7 million for FF&E , it may come down . <br /> Paul said buying equipment will be a touchy issue . <br /> Peter said they should put as much money into things that will last . <br /> Computer equipment doesn' t have a long shelf life . <br /> Paul said it could however , effect the operational budget of the school <br /> Joe said the issue needs input form the principal . <br /> Paul wants to do what is in the best interest of the community, as a <br /> whole . <br /> Ed said, regarding computers , to be competitive , SMMA rolls over their <br /> computers every 2 years , in those areas not as competitive , every 4 years . <br /> IIt would be foolish for Mashpee to buy anything they won ' t use intensively <br /> in the first 2 years of operation. <br /> Peter asked if they looked at upgrading the appearance of the lobby? <br /> Ed said the floor upgrade has been incorporated . <br /> ** Janice made a motion the Committee approve the following items , for <br /> design purposes only, to obtain negotiating prices from the contractor, and <br /> if satisfactory, go forward for Selectmen' s approval : Site 3 , 11 , 12 , 13 , <br /> Building , 1 , 9 . Merry Sue seconded the motion. <br /> Bill is not crazy about the practice football field . Merry Sue said it <br /> will be used. Bill thinks they could spend that money some where else , <br /> there are enough fields already to find practice area. <br /> ** 6 members were in favor, 1 opposed ( Bill Martiros ) <br /> Paul asked SMMA to come back with a design cost budget for those items . <br /> Jim Byrne said there are items on the site list that the Committee may want <br /> to work something out with the architect because the window of opportunity <br /> to get the best price is in the next 1-2 weeks because of the land <br /> clearing . <br /> He said it is just rumor at this point but there will probably be a <br /> proposal to leave fill on the site . The Committee may be able to negotiate <br /> on the land clearing/fill issue to get the best price . <br /> Joel said 1 , 2 , 3 , 5 and 8 are clearing issue . SMMA can start immediately <br /> looking at the impact and developing sketches . <br /> Paul suggested they start a dialogue with Stone telling them there is a <br /> Change order in process . <br /> Tom said this highlights the need for a CPM as soon as possible . <br /> INTERVIEWS <br /> Janice said at a cable meeting last week, she was told that CCR told <br /> Continental cable that they will not be cabling any of the high school ! <br /> Joel explained he received a memo from Mike Pietrowski on that issue . <br /> Michael Kirwan from CCR was at that meeting and he was stating that is not <br /> 5 <br />
