Mashpee High School Building Committee Meeting September 26, 1995 Page Two High School Site Com Electric wrote a letter to the Selectmen regarding easement and a need for a letter of intent. At the present he had not heard anything regarding a response but that he was going to contact Bob Whritenour regarding this matter. Also mentioned was that an arrangement with the gas company had been made and that water line arrangements had been made. A question was asked regarding handraking vs. machinery. It was answered that both were presently being utilized and that the present mix was good and that all efforts for the spring looked good. A 2000 gallon truck would be coming down to keep the fields wet. P. Griffin informed the members that he would be speeking with Lawrence Lynch on November 1 regarding putting the binder down. At the present the Trailers would probably be in the way but it was doubtful that all the binder would be down before winter. All efforts will be made to complete this by then the binder will rate for heavy equipment. Shop drawings in at present were for derricks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The drawings for derrick 6 also was in . Drawings for derricks 7, 9, 11, and 12 have been sent to Syms. Derricks 8 and 10 are presently at Stones office for review and will be sent overnight to Joel tonight via Federal Express. The steel company had been contacted regarding delivery dates. Derrick 1 is up and the steel for derrick 4 is here except for the columns. They are due to arrive Thursday, Sept. 28 or Friday, Sept. 29 and then it will be erected. Welding is to be done in derrick 1 and derricks 2 and 3 are scheduled for arrival on Tuesday. Fabrication for derrick 5 starts tomorrow a.m. There is a 3 or 4 day fabrication turnaround. L. L. Lyons has committed to have the drawings back on derrick 6 and do a formal review to get them off to the steel company for fabrication with any revisions. Presently strong concentration is on beams for derricks 1 through 5. It is anticipated that by November 15, 1995 it will be fully erected. Further information was provided as to having the mason crews doubling up and get the crew going before cold weather conditions arrive. It was mentioned that sheeting and a vapor barrier would be set up and that 1-2 men would be dedicated to staging in accordance with OSHA standards. Concerns were raised as to productivity in the winter and that a need for better production time on steel, and approving the exterior steel studs. H. Carr is to reevaluate derricks 1-4 so that they can approve the packages. Currently, progress is being made in expediting the erection and tomorrow, T. Wren will go over current issues with Bob B. Concerns about heat - plumbing and pipes were raised by the contractors. They are worried about pipes freezing. Heaters will be on site and will be coming in ahead of time - tested and ready to go.
