school well will be .
' Tom Wren put together a list of all of the cuts made to date . (Copies to
be sent to Committee members) .
Paul said if the Committee spends any money now, he wants to see a value,
for example dual fuel , which now makes sense because we can afford it.
Merry Sue would like to see more landscaping materials added .
- the Committee received a memo from SMMA re : theater lighting . Included
in the current bidding documents (GC) are conduit and wiring , fixtures -
diming and lighting controls.
For the CCTV, included in the bid documents were conduit, cabling , coaxial
cable and cameras.
- memo from Bill Hauck who is happy with the final drawings .
- letter from town counsel who obtained a partial release of the easement
on the site.
- letter from Joel Seeley regarding traffic study design work .
Paul said there are still some issues on the 2 other intersections
discussed in the traffic study.
' Greg Taylor said he explained to the Commission that it was a
misunderstanding , there are no physical improvements to be done at those
intersections.
Paul explained that the Commission has asked that the Committee go ahead
and design the 151 intersection but it is not the Committee ' s
responsibility for implementation of the traffic signal . The EIR says the
Town will take the necessary means to get it designed and the action to get
it resolved . Once it is designed , Greg can go forth and ask for funding .
Greg said the transportation improvement list, which is State and Federal
funds, has the signal on the list for next year.
Paul said it is his recommendation that the Committee approve the phase II
design work , for $21 , 500 , so that Greg can get the intersection funded .
Steve said it is a good value.
** Steve made a motion to authorize SMMA (VHB) to proceed with Phase
II design work in the amount of $21 , 500 . Merry Sue seconded
the motion . All members were in favor .
Phase I design work includes the curb cut, Old Barnstable Road work -
widening to 4 lanes, bike path .
The Committee felt this work was within SMMA' s scope of work , SMMA
submitted a rebuttal to town counsel ' s opinion on this matter and Town
Counsel still feels it is within SMMA's scope.
Ed said off site work is beyond the scope of their contract.
Paul said this work must begin and •he would recommend the Committee approve
the work even though this issue has not been finalized .
** Paul made a motion to approve phase I design work by VHB for
$15 , 2000 .
