things to do that cannot be accomplished by Tuesday . Most of it is
paperwork .
Kathy Lynch asked .if the teachers will be allowed in?
Paul said tomorrow they will be allowed in.
John Williams asked about teachers decorating their rooms?
Paul said if the room has a sign off , there is no problem.
Paul has told Alan Scoot he expects the remainder of the building , less the
auditorium, in 2 weeks . The auditorium must be complete by October 5th .
John Williams explained he will have a problem with lunchtime coverage if
the students must eat in their classrooms . Is it possible to offer an
incentive to teachers to cover lunch and bill it back to Stone?
Paul said any cost to the town for the delay of the building from the
substantial completion date has to be the sole cost of Stone . John
Williams should keep a list of extra costs ( clean ups etc . ) We will
probably end up litigating it .
Kathy Lynch said the school department will have to spend the money , which
is not built into their budget . When will theyget it back?
Paul said he will have to talk to Town Counsel and the 'Town Accountant .
They may be able to transfer money to the school department from the hold
back from Stone ' s contract .
Steve Greelish said they should talk with the town account , he does not
think it is possible to transfer for that purpose .
Dr. Demoura said there may need to be a article on the May town meeting .
EXTERIOR SCOREBOARD
John Williams got 3 quotes for the exterior football field scoreboard. He
presented them to the Committee . His recommendation is for the Nevco . We
are using them for the internal scoreboards . The control pads are
interchangeable . They recommend it go on the South end of the fields ,
outside of the track. He would also like to get the field sponsor sign for
$626 . 40 These prices do not include installation . There may be some people
in the community who can install it .
Paul asked if we have provisions for wiring?
Jim said from the athletic storage facility.
Steve said he will donate his services for installation , but they will
still. need a licensed electrician.
** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval
and purchase of a Nevco scoreboard and field sponsor sign for
$6 , 899 . 55 and $626 . 40 , plus any taxes . Janice seconded the motion.
All members were in favor 6-0**
CHANGE ORDER
Tom Wren presented change order #22 , which Joel faxed over . It is for :
- chilled water connection to Superintendent ' s office
- extra valve boxes and risers for irrigation system
- electrical work for air conditioning units 1-4
- cold water piping in science lab teacher ' s station
Total Change order $11 , 876 .
6
