He explained to the
Committee that he has lost confidence that Stone is wiling or able to
complete the repairs and seeding of the athletic fields .
Paul asked if there are any issues in the area marked in red on the plan -
roadway, parking , student parking?
Dan said they have not fully completed the planting of those areas . Most of
the trees are planted but shrubs and ground cover are not yet complete . The
seeding of the lawn to the west of the school is not completed . He will
review those conditions with Brian Lawlor.
Paul asked if there were any major problems in accepting that area?
Dan aid no , they are punchlist items . They area is safe . The seeded areas
should be flagged off so no one walks on them.
Joel explained he asked Dan to attend today' s meeting because they have
major concerns relating to the athletic fields.
Peter asked if any of these items touch on contractual issues?
Paul said all of them do .
Peter asked if the discussion should be held in Executive Session?
Paul said it should not , unless it deals with legal strategy.
Dan explained again he has lost confidence that Stone will repair the
athletic fields . He has given them exhaustive directions on how to repair
them and the directions have been almost completely ignored .
The athletic fields were planted, late , last year. They have eroded and
been damaged by vehicle and foot traffic . Stone failed to provide almost
all maintenance required during the growing period including fertilizing
and mowing . There has been no irrigation and no maintenance at all since
the end of May.
Dan suggested, to ensure playing conditions in the spring , the Committee
explore other options and eliminate that portion of work from Stone ' s
contract .
Paul said that discussion is for Executive Session.
He would like to know Dan' s opinion of what as to be done to the fields ,
and why Stone cannot comply?
1
