4
Jim suggested the Committee could get a price for the home ec
room and then made a decision.
Joel said it will be a lot of work because there is underground
pluming involved.
The Committee decided to release the hold on that area and leave
the room at 4 cooking stations .
After meeting with the Selectmen last week, they asked what else
the Committee anticipated spending money on before the end of the
project:
- the site bid package
- duel fuel system
- acid tank, if it is required
- off site improvements ; road and entrance
- Tom suggested adding an amount for potential claims , just in
case.
Paul said, depending on what the price is for the site bid
package, it will amount to $400 , 00- $600 , 000 . Joel said the bid
package will have a base and add alternates.
Joel said the irrigation system is still an outstanding proposal .
There is an initial price to upgrade the system - pump capacity
and mains , and then also provide a distribution system to the
extra fields - 2 components . The Committee will then have 2
options , they could just have Stone put stubs at the future
fields or could have them provide the entire system. The price
from Stone is still outstanding . They have fired their original
sub and have just hired a new one.
The irrigation system was supposed to be in last fall . The well
is going in today.
PAYMENT REQUISITION
Joel explained that Stone was late in providing the information.
Joel received it Fed Ex this morning. Chartwell does not have a
recommendation letter, Tom received it this afternoon.
Joel took some things off the req. There was a problem with a
title, it was from a vendor, should be from the GC, required by
the statute.
Paul said, after discussing this with town counsel , the Committee
can legally hold the requisition but it will hurt the contractor-
especially the subs. Paul would prefer to approve it and then
have Tom Wren hold it , don' t present it for payment to the town
accountant until Tom receives all the outstanding paperwork.
Joel said Tom should receive an updated CPM before releasing it,
that is a major issue .
Paul said he will tell Stone that but he doesn' t want to put a
wrinkle in the progress of the job now, while it is moving .
3
