the auditorium and kitchen area. If that were the case , the
students could eat in the dining room and the food be prepared at
the Middle School and delivered.
Steve said, we have no CPM, Stone has never met a commitment ,
there are serious concerns with the sewage treatment plant. The
trailers are more of a hassal but it is the safe alternative .
Paul said if Stone meets the schedule, the town pays for the
trailers .
Steve would rather that happen than move into a building too
early. He would ask our professional to advise us .
The bottom line is we have to make the decision now and Stone has
not show us the track record.
Paul said in the last 4-6 weeks the job has changed dramatically.
There is only carpet, tile and ceiling tile left to be done in
A,B & E. The systems must also be tested and balanced.
Joe asked about the sewage treatment plant?
Paul said that could the component that prevents this .
Steve said the building will not get an occupancy permit without
it .
Paul said at this point, he is not willing to let the town spend
$180, 000 on trailers.
Ian asked about moving in of furniture and equipment?
Steve said you have to sign off on the building before you can do
that .
Tom said the priority is to complete section A, then E and B.
Bill Hauck has said Stone has to be completely out of the
building before getting an occupancy permit .
If we had a revised CPM we would be better able to tell if this
is realistic.
Joel asked what is the minimum they need to run the school , by
August 23rd?
John Williams said it is A,B & E.
Steve said this will require first class logistics.
Merry Sue believes they will complete A, & E but without the STP
they can't open.
Paul said the pumps will be here June 15 , they can start up by
July 1 .
Joe asked if this Committee has enough information now to make
the decision?
Paul said the school committee' s drop dead date is June 15th.
There is a meeting of all the inspectors here tomorrow.
Joel asked the lead time needed for the trailers?
Paul said the trailer company wants 60 days.
The Committee decided to table this decision until their next
meeting on June llth.
In order to make this decision the Committee needs :
- to see the revised CPM
- receive STP pumps
- see finishes in A,B & E
- science and specialty room casework finished
5
