Oysters, three inches in the longest dimension of <br /> their shell . <br /> I ' <br /> Scallops, must have a well-defined annual growth <br /> ring, regardless of the dimensions or weight of the <br /> individual shellfish. <br /> All shellfish are to be culled immediately after <br /> being taken and seed must be returned to the <br /> immediate area from which it was taken. No person <br /> shall possess seed or transport seed for the purpose <br /> of transplanting to another area without written <br /> permission of the Director of the Massachusetts <br /> Division of Marine Fisheries and the Mashpee Board <br /> of Selectmen. <br /> 10 . When using any basket rake or approved harvesting <br /> tool, all natural cull material must be removed and <br /> returned to the waters from which it was taken, <br /> preferably below the mean low water mark. All <br /> man-made debris such as glass, cans, bottles etc . V <br /> should be removed from the area and disposed of in <br /> a proper place and manner. At no time should any <br /> materials be deposited above the high water mark !: <br /> on public or private property. <br /> 11 . All holes made by dry-digging shellfish shall be <br /> filled in and seed replanted before moving to <br /> another area. <br /> 12 . The harvesting of shellfish by any method other <br /> than those approved by the Board of Selectmen is <br /> prohibited. Shellfish may be taken by hand, hand <br /> trowel ( garden variety ), dip net, scratcher or <br /> "Potato" rake, basket rake or hand-plunger. <br /> Mechanical or hydraulic harvesting equipment or use t: <br /> of approved harvesting tools from a vessel under <br /> power or sail is prohibited except where allowed <br /> by special regulation or permit issued by the <br /> Board of Selectmen. ��. <br /> 13. The harvesting of eels, oysters and scallops are <br /> subject to separate or additional regulations asI <br /> setforth in Article 5 of these regulations . '' <br /> 14 . Digging or plunging shellfish within 2 feet of the 'I <br /> edge of a marsh structure is prohibited. Digging <br /> or displacing marsh grass is prohibited. <br /> hi <br /> 15 . Scuba diving for the purpose of taking shellfish is <br /> prohibited. Snorkeling or skin diving for shellfish <br /> is allowed in all approved swimming areas of the <br />
