The Building Inspector shall
have the right, for cause, to extend the 10 day time limit imposed
hereunder for additional 10 day periods or take any action relating
thereto" Submitted by the Board of Selectmen.
Pairs Thomas: I move the Article as printed in the Narraiiu w.itin -Lne aeleziorl
of the words" or take any action there to. Again I will defer to the
Planning Board Chairman.,
Lotion seconded f
Richard Terry: Basically the Planning Board is in favor of this again. This .1
provides when opening Streets that it be done with the Building Inspectors
approval. This. .will deter builders from damaging roads by cutting corners,
leaving a mess after the construction is completed. So they will have to put !
up a bond before they are able to build_' . Again I think it is good protectic :
for the Town and the Planning Board agrees.
John Malone: Is this only applicable to private roads or also applicable
to Town owned roads?
Richard Terry: All streets.
Frederic Blythe: What about the Gas Company, etc? I have known two or
three cases where it has been months before they have come back to fill
in holes.
Moderator: There are included and the Electric Company, Anybody else? j
I will call for a vote to the Article as amended. All in favor say aye
opposed no. Motion carries. All those opposed to a unanimous vote say
no. Hearing none, I so declare.
4
Amended motion
E
"Section 6 .11 - Prior to the authorization of any new building, the
Building Inspector shall require a performance bond of not less than $4 . 00 c.
per foot of lot frontage against possible costs due to erosion or damage
within street rights-of-way, and a bond or cash security may be required
by the Building Inspector for other construction, such bond or cash security
to be held by the Town Treasurer until an occupancy hermit is granted in the
case of a building or a release of the security is executed by the- Building
Inspector.
