Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen to negotiate a lease, for t term not to exceed 99 years, of the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum to the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribal Council, Inc., and to authorize the Board of Selectmen to petition the General Court for special legislation permitting such lease, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Board of Selectmen Explanation: This article seeks authorization for the Board of Selectmen to negotiate a lease with the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian•Tribal Council for the control and operation of the Indian Museum. Motion passes unanimously at 9:34 p.m. j Article 19. i To see if the Town will vote to appropriate or transfer from available funds the sum of$1,184.82 s: 1 Circulation Assistant from Grade 3, Step 1 to to reclassify the following library position Grade 4, Step 1; 2 Circulation Assistants from grade 3, Step 5 to Grade 4, Step 4, and Library Assistant from Grade 8, Step 5 to Grade 10, Step 3, or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by Petition Explanation: The Board of Trusties is requesting that library staff classifications be upgraded to the level of other town positions requiring similar levels of skills and are performing comparable work. The Circulation Assistants are the only employees in Grade 3, while clerical employees in town positions are Grade 4 or higher. The training and skills of the Library Assistant are greater • than the present Grade 8's which are secretarial positions. The level of skills, training and responsibility required of the Library Assistant is comparable to positions in Grade 10. Recommendation: Finance Committee does not recommend approval.
