Motion made by Wayne Taylor.
Motion: I move the Town accept the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws
Chapter 148, Section 26I.
Motion passes unanimously at 7:35pm.
Article 24
To see if the Town will authorize the Executive Secretary, acting as the Town's
Procurement Officer, to transfer ownership of the Fire & Rescue Department's
"SAFE" trailer to the Barnstable County Fire Prevention Association, or take any
other action relating thereto.
Submitted by the Fire Chief
Explanation: The Fire & Rescue Department received the SAFE trailer through
a grant from the State Fire Marshal's Office. The intent of this grant was to
provide the communities of Barnstable County full use of this trailer. Transfer of
this trailer to the Barnstable County Fire Prevention Association would transfer
all liability and maintenance responsibilities that the Town currently incurs
regarding the upkeep of this trailer.
Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval.
Motion made by Nancy Caffyn.
Motion: I move the Town authorize the Executive Secretary, acting as the
Town's Procurement Officer, to transfer ownership of the Fire & Rescue
Department's "SAFE" trailer to the Barnstable County Fire Prevention
Association.
Motion passes unanimously at 7:36pm.
Article 25
To see if the Town will vote to adopt the following new By-law:
Chapter 46 Fire Hydrants
Section 1: To ensure fire safety for the inhabitants of the Town, no obstructions
including, but not limited to, plantings, trees, fences, and walls shall be allowed
between the street and any fire hydrant and/or within 3 feet of the sides or rear of
said hydrant.
