Philosophy p y and Objectives <br /> The purpose of the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School is to: <br /> 1. Provide a quality vocational/technical program for the Cape Cod <br /> Regional Technical High School District; 2) develop a positive atti- <br /> tude in the student; 3) develop the student's individual potential; 4) <br /> motivate the student toward respect for,and development of, academic <br /> and vocational/technical craftsmanshi • 5 <br /> motivate <br /> p ) the student to be a <br /> contributing member of society; 6) participate fully.in educational re- <br /> form requirements; and 7) provide quality, skill development training <br /> for teachers and students. Specific objectives to implement this phi- <br /> losophy are listed below: <br /> 1. Provide a quality vocational/technical program for the Cape Cod <br /> Regional Technical High School District. <br /> a. Afford each student an opportunity to develop marketable skills <br /> as preparation for being a productive, self-sustaining citizen. <br /> b. Provide staff, curriculum, facilities and equipment that sup- <br /> port the stated philosophy. <br /> c. Guide the student in making realistic choices that are consis- <br /> tent with the needs of industry, self-employment and the ca- i <br /> pabilities of the students. <br /> d. Provide practical, technical and specific work experience that <br /> relates to the job market. <br /> e. Provide programs of vocational/technical and academic skills <br /> that are mutually supportive and annually evaluated. <br /> f. Provide effective communication to members of our district <br /> community, our parents and local media. ' <br /> 2. Encourage positive student attitudes. a <br /> a. Promote pride, self-esteem, self-discipline, responsibility, ac- <br /> ceptance and respect for others. <br /> b. Provide a caring staff and administration who are thoughtful, <br /> knowledgeable and concerned about the students. <br /> c. Promote school policies that support the above ideals. <br /> d.
