Article 31 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning By-law as follows: <br /> by replacing the definition of a "Home Occupation" in Section 174-3 with the <br /> following: <br /> "HOME OCCUPATION —Gainful employment carried on by the permanent residents of <br /> a dwelling unit. A home occupation must be clearly incidental and secondary to the <br /> use of the premises as a dwelling and compatible with surrounding uses. Home <br /> occupations do not involve the production of products where electrical interference, <br /> noise, dust, vibration, glare, fumes, odors, or other objectionable effects are <br /> perceptible outside the premises.", <br /> by replacing the current wording of Section 174-25.I(5) with the following: <br /> "(5) Permitted Home Occupations, subject to the provisions of Subsection <br /> 174-25.1."1 <br /> by replacing the current wording of Section 174-25.I(6) with the following: j <br /> ,(6) Conditional Home Occupations, subject to the provisions of Subsection <br /> 174-25.1."f i <br /> by changing the designation under all columns for Subsection 174-25.I(6) from "PR" <br /> to"SP" <br /> and by adding the following new Section 174-25.1: <br /> "§174-25.1. Home Occupations. <br /> A. Statement of Intent. <br /> This section is intended to protect residential areas from potential adverse impacts of <br /> activities defined as home occupations, to permit residents of the community a broad <br /> choice in the use of their homes as a place of livelihood in the production or <br /> supplementing of personal/family income, to restrict incompatible uses and to <br /> establish criteria and standards for the use of residential structures or dwelling units <br /> for home occupations. <br /> i <br /> B. Permitted Home Occupations. <br /> (1) Certain home occupations which involve only limited visits to the <br /> property by persons who are not residents of the premises, which <br /> involve no employees who are not residents of the premises, which <br /> will have no noticeable impact on abutting properties and which <br /> otherwise conform with the requirements of this section may be <br /> conducted upon approval of a home occupation permit following the <br /> 34 <br />
