"11 Except that no building in any industrial district may be located within 150 feet of Routes
28 or 151." or take any other action relating thereto.
Submitted by Board of Selectmen
Explanation: This article would maintain a 150-foot setback requirement from Routes 28 and
151 in Industrial zoning districts, but otherwise reduce front setbacks in those districts to 75 feet,
which is currently the applicable front setback from private streets in industrial districts. This
amendment is proposed because of recent and proposed conversions of streets in industrial areas
from private to Town roads, which under current zoning would increase required setbacks from
those streets from 75 to 150 feet.
Planning Board voted at a Public Hearing held on April 23, 2003 for approval.
Motion made by Wayne Taylor.
Motion: I move the Town vote to amend to Section 174-31 of the Zoning Bylaw, as printed in
the warrant.
i
Motion passes unanimously at 9:41 p.m. f
Article 27
To see if the Town will amend Section 174-55.0 as follows:
In an industrial district, one (1) freestanding sign is permitted on each lot, provided that it does
not stand forty (40) square feet in signboard area, does not exceed five (5) feet in height and is
located closer than fifty(50) feet to a lot line. In commercial districts, one (1) freestanding stand
per road access point is permitted. Such signs may not exceed forty(40) square feet in signboard
area and may not be closer than twelve (12) feet to any lot line. The top edge of any such `
freestanding sign shall not be higher than twenty-five (25) vertical measure above the average
level of the ground between the supports of each sign or take any other action related thereto.
Submitted by Petition
Explanation: The purpose of this Article would allow a commercial business that is not visible
from the road to advertise itself at a road access point. The purpose would only be to advertise a
business that could not be seen from the road. y
Planning Board voted at a Public Hearing held on April 23, 2003 5-0 to make no
recommendation.
Motion made by Arthur DePaul.
Motion: I move the.Article 27 be voted as printed in the warrant with the exception of the
phrase, "or take any other action relating thereto'.
Motion made to move question at 9:46 p.m.
27
y
