• MASHPEE BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MINUTES <br />Wednesday, August 22, 1990 <br />The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting on Wednesday, <br />August 22, 1990 at the Mashpee Town Hall. Board members present <br />and acting throughout were: Cheryl A. Hawver, Chairman; Michael <br />A. Makunas, Vice -Chairman; Edward M. Govoni and John J. Friel, <br />Associate Members. William J. Hanrahan, Clerk, was present for <br />all hearings except Signature Inc. Building Inspector Douglas S. <br />Boyd was in attendance. Ms. Hawver called the meeting to order <br />at 7:39 P.M. <br />Signature, Inc. - (Owner of Record: Fields Point Ltd. <br />Partnership) - Requests a Special Permit under Section <br />174-25.E.1 of the Zoning By-laws and the conditions of Special <br />Permit 86-04-024 for permission to operate a retail store in a <br />C-1 zoning district on property located at Mashpee Commons, =8 <br />Nathan Ellis Highway (Map 74, Block 20) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members present: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, E. Govoni, J. Friel <br />Mr. Hanrahan stepped down from the Board for this hearing. <br />Douglas Storrs of Field's Point represented the applicant. He <br />informed the Board that Signature, Inc. was occupying 1,400 sf <br />of space as an art gallery and were required to obtain a Special <br />• Permit for the use of Space 10.1. <br />Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit. Mr. Govoni <br />seconded. All agreed.. <br />Mc Donald's Corporation - (Owner, of Record: Jorlen <br />Corporation) - Requests a Special Permit under Sections 174-17, <br />174-25.E.2 and 174-25.F.7 of the Zoning By-laws for permission <br />to renovate an existing restaurant and lounge to provide for a <br />restaurant with accessory Drive-Thru service in a C-1 zoning <br />district on property located at 620 Falmouth Road (Route 28) <br />(Map 74, Block 6) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members present: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan, E. <br />Govoni, J. Friel. <br />Attorney Kevin Kirrane represented the applicant and Mr. <br />and Mrs. John Holland who will be the operators of the facility. <br />He explained that he is applying for a Special Permit to change <br />the existing non -conforming use of the former Pickwick's <br />restaurant site. He stated that a new design for the building <br />had been submitted to the Design Review Committee. He reviewed <br />the reasons for the current non -conformity: (1.) the setback <br />from Donna's Lane is 37' rather than the required 40' and (2) <br />the setback from Route 28 does not meet the 50' buffer zone <br />requirement. <br />• <br />
