fi
Board of Appeals Minutes - October 24, 1990 3.
•
Michael Forde, President of the John's Pond Association, stated
that they had been working with the developer and attorneys for the
past year. He thought they had reached a compromise on 17 units which
would be divided 1/3 senior housing, 1/3 summer housing and 1/3 family
housing. He questioned the costs to the Town and said he felt more
information was needed on the Local Initiative Program.
Ms. Barnet replied that the Local Initiative Program means that
the Town designs it. Mr. Hanrahan questioned why the Local Initiative
Program was being discussed when it had not been presented to the Town.
Mr. Princi replied that the hearing opened under the HOP program and
said the Board could request if the project was approved by the Selectmen.
A member of the audience asked how many Town residents were included
in the 60 applicants for the housing. Ms. Barnet said there were 60
inquiries and applications are in the process of being received. She
said there were five applicants from Mashpee.
Mr. Friel stated that the Local Initiative Program allows the
Town to write its own guidelines on the percent of Town applicants.
Ms. Hawver reviewed correspondence received from Town Boards.
Mr. Hanrahan read a letter from Anthony Ferragamo, Chairman of the
Planning Board. Mr. DeMartino said he had met with Ernest Virgilio,
Director of Public Works and Charles Rowley, Engineer for the Planning
Board, to discuss specifications on the road layout. Mr. Hanrahan
asked if Mr. DeMartino would object to meeting with the Planning Board,
and Mr. Princi replied that he would encourage this.
Mr. Hanrahan said the Board of Appeals would need: 21E report
on water samples, soil samples, effects of plume, effects of dumping.
Mr. Greelish said that the Board of Health would assign the Health
Agent to assist them.
There was discussion of the next meeting and it was agreed to
discuss continuations at the next meeting on November 14, 1990, after
the applicant had gone to the Selectmen.
George Silva - (Owner of record: George J. Silva TR, Faiman-Silva
Realty Trust) - Requests an extension of Special Permit 88-09-079 filed
with the Town Clerk of Mashpee on December 5, 1988 granting permission
to build a medical office building in an I-1 zoning district on property
located at 735 Falmouth Road (Route 28) (Map 81, Block 28) Mashpee, MA.
Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan
Mr. Makunas and Mr. Govoni joined the meeting. Dr. Silva represented
his application. He reviewed plans approved for a Special Permit for a
medical office building for his offices as well as three tenants. He said
-
he had two tentative tenants and needed one more group before building.
