Tavares) - Requests <br />a Special Permit under Sections 174-25.E.1, 374-25.E.3, 174-25.E.5, <br />174-25.F.2 and 174-25.G.6 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to <br />operate a retail business for marine supplies and boat sales and a <br />boat and motor repair business in a C-2 zoning district on property <br />located on Falmouth Road (Route 28) and 7 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Blocks <br />6 and 64) Mashpee, MA. <br />Bosun's Marine - (Owner of record: Wayne R. Tavares) - Requests <br />a Special Permit under Sections 174-25.G.6 and 174-25.G.9 of the Zoning <br />By-laws for permission to operate a boat storage business in an I-1 <br />zoning district on property located at 31 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 9) <br />Mashpee, MA. <br />Bosun's Marine - (Owner of record: Wayne R. Tavares) - Requests a <br />Variance from Section 174-31 of the Zoning By-laws for permission to <br />vary the setbacks in a C-2 zoning district on property located at <br />7 Bowdoin Road (Map 54, Block 6) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: C. Hawver, M. Makunas, W. Hanrahan <br />Timothy Leedham represented the applications. He explained that his <br />business is expanding and the new locations would allow use of the former <br />Heritage Gardens site for the sales of marine supplies and boats and that <br />a lot at 31 Bowdoin Road would be used for boat storage. The Board was <br />informed that the Design Review Committee had approved the final plan. <br />He explained that the Variance was required to eliminate some of <br />the parking and provide a connector to other parking areas. The fence <br />along Route 28 will be moved back to provide a wider buffer. He <br />explained that they will be servicing boats and will not be storing any <br />hazardous waste. Mr. Makunas explained that Design Review had required <br />extensive landscaping to conform to that required on the opposite side <br />of the street. Mr. Leedham said the signage would be similar to what is <br />in place except a sign on the fence will be eliminated. Ms. Hawver asked <br />about disposal of oil and Mr. Leedham said it would be removed by a <br />licensed contractor. <br />Dick Mell, an abutter with a fiberglass boat repair shop on Bowdoin <br />Road, questioned if the plan would effect his business. There was <br />discussion that the two businesses would complement one another. <br />Mr. Makunas moved to grant the Special Permit and the Variance on <br />• property at 7 Bowdoin Road. Mr. Hanrahan seconded . All agreed. <br />
