MASHPEE BOARD OF APPEALS
Minutes
Wednesday, November 28, 1990
The Mashpee Board of Appeals held a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, November 28, 1990 at the Mashpee Town hall. Board members
present and acting throughout the public hearings were Michael A. Makunas,
John Friel and B. Thomas Christian. Board members Cheryl A. Hawver,
William J. Hanrahan and Edward M. Govoni were absent.
Mr. Makunas called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
PUBLIC HEARINGS
Louis Marandola - (owner of record: Charles M. Talanian, TR) -
requests a Special Permit under Section 174.2.5.H.13 of the Zoning
By-laws to allow for the temporary sale of Christmas trees and wreaths
in a C-1 zoning district on property located at 650 Falmouth Road (Route
28) (Map 81, Block 4) Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Members sitting: M. Makunas, Acting Chairman; John J. Friel, Clerk;
and B. Thomas Christian.
Mr. Marandola explained that he was seeking a special permit from
December 1, 1990 to December 24, 1990 to sell Christmas trees and
wreaths. This will be the only activity on this property since the flea
market and restaurant have stopped operating for the season.
Mr. Friel asked whether anyone was at the meeting to represent the
owner of the property and that the flea market operated under a special
permit. Mr. Makunas felt it was a separate issue and that the restaurant
operates under a separate special permit and that that this would be a
temporary permit.
Mr. Friel made a motion to grant a special permit from December 1,
1990 until December 24, 1990 for the sale of Christmas trees and
wreaths. Special condition placed on the special permit was that the area
is to be totally cleaned up by December 27, 1990. Mr. Christian seconded
the motion. All agreed.
