April 26, 1989 3. BOARD OF APPEALS <br />• Mr. Stuart Baker of Creative Builders presented the petition. He <br />explained that the house was 30 years old and had been extensively <br />remodeled. In the up -grading a new heating and hot water system had <br />been installed. He had not known systems should have been moved to an <br />upper floor until work was completed. He now plans to build cement <br />bunkers around the units. <br />The Board determined that there would be substantial hardship in <br />moving the utilities since remodeling had been completed. Mr. Hanrahan <br />stated that a letter would be sent to the owner notifying her that the <br />first floor elevation level increases risks to life and property. There <br />were no abutters present. <br />Mr. Hanrahan moved to grant the Variance. Ms. Hawver seconded. <br />All agreed. <br />Karen Carroll - Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.A.8 of <br />the Land Use Regulations for permission to construct an in-law apartment <br />in an R-3 Zoning District on property located at 21 Squaws Lane (Map 117, <br />Block 76) Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Govoni <br />Mr. Baker reported that the owner now wishes to withdraw the <br />• application for the Special Permit and submitted the request in writing. <br />Mr. Hanrahan moved to accept the withdrawal without prejudice. <br />Ms. Hawver seconded. Swanson) <br />Requests a Special Permit under Section 6.3.I.9 of the Land Use Regulations <br />for permission to construct a dock in an R-3 Zoning District on property <br />located at 79 Seconsett Island Road (Map 119, Blocks 101 and 102) <br />Mashpee, MA. <br />Members sitting: W. Halpern <br />Mr. Halpern stated that a letter had been received from Christopher <br />Costa, Agent for Mr. Scolavino, requesting a continuance on this hearing <br />due to a conflict with a hearing date at the Falmouth Board of Appeals <br />and granting a 30 -day extension on the statutory time limits. <br />Mr. Hanrahan moved to continue the hearing to May 10, 1989. <br />Ms. Hawver seconded.
