Board of Appeals Minutes- July 22, 1998 5. <br /> Philip and Christine F. Madsen -Request a Special Permit under Section 174-25.I.9 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for the construction of walkway and dock in Abigail's Brook on <br /> property located in an R-3 zoning district at 60 Amy Brown Road(Map 115,Block 17) <br /> Mashpee, MA. <br /> Members sitting: J. Regan,R, Nelson, J. Dorgan. <br /> Philip and Christine F. Madsen represented themselves. They were told by Conservation <br /> Commission to apply with the Board of Appeals first. They stated they decided to locate <br /> the walkway in the particular place where a cut (channel) in the marsh has existed for a <br /> long time. Mr. Ellis did not approve a float,just a dock. Plans are being drawn up by <br /> engineer. Mr. Regan said he was very familiar with the area and that it was very shallow. <br /> No comments were received from abutters. <br /> Mr. Dorgan moved to grant the variance and special permit. Mr. Nelson reminded the <br /> Board that the plans have been changed to exclude the float and recommended that the <br /> wording be changed to walkway dock. Mr. Regan stated that the grant should be subject <br /> to Conservation and all other agencies' approvals and condition it to findings 1 -5 for <br /> docks. Mr. Nelson seconded. All agreed. <br /> Mediaone of Massachusetts Inc. -Requests a Special Permit under Section 174-25.D.5 of <br /> the Zoning By-laws for permission to expand a cable television relay facility with a 1,456 <br /> square foot addition on property located in an I-1 zoning district at 47 Industrial Drive <br /> (Map 88,Block 23)Mashpee,MA. <br /> Members sitting: J. Regan, R. Nelson, R. Guerrera, <br /> Mr. Steven C. Habeeb of Habeeb and Associates and Mr. Chuck Goy of Media One <br /> represented the applicant. Design Review agreed on a concrete-type building with a"split- <br /> face"and a brick tone. Design Review requested that trees be planted as a further <br /> screening to the entry and view from Industrial Drive. The expansion will house <br /> additional electronic equipment, computers and a space with a wash facility for employees <br /> to take a break. A letter from DPW and the Planning Department were received indicating <br /> no concerns. Mr. Habeeb made changes with pen on the plan showing Design Review's <br /> requests for additional landscaping. <br /> Mr. Nelson moved to grant the special permit. Mr. Guerrera seconded it. All agreed. <br /> Mr. Regan requested the Board reorganize and moved to have Mr. Edward M. Govoni as <br /> Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Nelson seconded. All agreed. Mr. Regan <br /> moved to have Cheryl Hawver as Clerk of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Nelson <br /> seconded. All agreed. Mr. Guerrera moved to have James E. Regan III as Vice Chairman <br /> of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Mr. Dorgan seconded. All agreed. <br />
