It is stated <br /> that this should be the first task - (set up goals ) . <br /> Best time for meetings - discussion - decided Monday next <br /> ( 12/4 ) - 7 : OOPM - everyone agrees . <br /> IV. OTHER - Discussion begins - <br /> Carol Russell suggests playground facility is <br /> inappropriate . <br /> Discussion on other spots for new playground - <br /> Mary M. - playground committee is suggested - Bob said <br /> PTO is working on it - suggested a joint effort between <br /> PTO & Council . <br /> Other concerns - <br /> Donna M. Asks how the reorganization is working and is <br /> the 1996 split definite? <br /> Bob Tippo brings up the fact that the High School may be <br /> delayed, and how important it is to keep schools equal <br /> academically. <br /> Donna M. - suggests that MMS should have more - it is a <br /> larger school . <br /> Debbie G. - why was the reorganization done? <br /> Bob Tippo answers that there are less students . <br /> Barbara K. says smaller schools are better for children. <br /> Debbie G. states the need to ensure diversity of <br /> population when reorganization is done. <br /> If School Committee votes not to split - it will not <br /> split - possible temporary 1/2 day kindergarten is <br /> discussed if H. S . not done . <br /> Carol R. asks if there are any plans to expand the MMS. <br /> Bob T. - both schools need money to ensure equity of <br /> resources . <br /> Mary M. asks how do teachers feel about the 1996 split . <br /> Barbara K. - they just feel it' s being done and don' t <br /> discuss it . <br /> Carol R. suggests art work at entrance to give MMS the <br /> elem. school feeling - Bob said Mrs . McKay' s class is <br /> working on it . <br /> Mary M. brings up overcrowding in the cafe - asks about <br /> problem and any plans for changes to prevent chaos . <br /> Bob - 7/8 are crowded - there is a staff meeting Monday <br /> to discuss remedy for chaos . <br /> Lower grade chaos questioned - <br /> Mary M. - kids won' t buy lunch due to lines . <br /> Bob T. - kids are being given time to eat . <br />
