Page 2 <br /> Interview with Mr. Maloney 7:15PM <br /> Mr. Maloney discussed his work experience and his interest in <br /> serving on the Finance Committee. Mr. Maloney had met with the <br /> Finance Committee last October and had discussed his resume at that <br /> time. Ms. King in him that she would call him with the <br /> decision of the Finance Committee. Mr. Maloney left at 7 :25PM. <br /> Ms. King informed the Committee that the League of Women Voters <br /> would be holding a meeting on October 30th at the Coombs School <br /> regarding Open Meeting Law. <br /> Open Meeting Law - Lawsuit <br /> Mr. Bacigalupi asked if it would be acceptable to the Finance <br /> Committee. to change the wording to read "meeting held in a public <br /> place, etc" , to eliminate any additional legal costs? Ms. King <br /> felt it was the Plaintiff's prerogative to come back to the Finance <br /> Committee and request a wording change. Mr. Watt agreed. He felt <br /> that he would be in favor of that wording, but it would need to be <br /> requested by the Plaintiffs. <br /> The Media <br /> Mr. Gallo mentioned how offended he has been in the way that the <br /> Finance Committee is treated in Town. It is his feeling that the <br /> Finance Committee is one of the most important boards in Town and <br /> should be treated that way. He wished that the Committee would <br /> come up with something to inform the taxpayers of their importance. <br /> Mr. Golub suggested televising and establishing dialogue with the <br /> newspapers. He suggested a weekly Finance Committee report or <br /> article. Mr. Golub Motioned to approach the editors of the Mashpee <br /> Messenger and the Enterprise to discuss how the Finance Committee <br /> and the newspapers can communicate better. Mr. Gallo seconded the <br /> Motion and members approved unanimously. <br /> Nomination <br /> Ms. King asked if anyone wished to nominate Mr. Maloney to the <br /> vacant seat on the Finance Committee? Mr. Bacigalupi nominated Mr. <br /> Maloney to the vacant seat. Mr. Gallo seconded the nomination. <br /> There was some discussion. Mr. Golub was unsure of what Mr. <br /> Maloney could offer .the Finance Committee. Mr. Watt asked if the <br /> seat had to be filled? Mr. Bacigalupi withdrew his nomination. <br /> Ms. King stated that she would contact Chairman Vaccaro regarding <br /> a joint meeting on October 26th at 6:OOPM. She indicated that at <br /> their October 24th meeting the Committee would decide what they <br /> wanted to discuss and place it in writing. <br />
