192 <br />Annual Town Meeting Warrant, March 1, 7.971 (cont'd) <br />The following resolution was presented for a vote: <br />Resolution <br />"Be it resolved that the voters of the Town of Mashpee herein <br />now, this first day of March, 7.971, express their wishes in <br />regard to studying the possibility of the Town of Mashpee <br />becoming a member of a Vocational School District by a show <br />of hands." <br />Action: Motion made and seconded the Resolution be accepted as I read. 146 for, none opposed. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 21. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds, the sum of $500 for expenses for the Vo- <br />cational School Study Committee, or take any other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum <br />of $500. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 22. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br />take from available fund9, the sum of $1,440 for rental of space for the <br />Head Start Program. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article read to raise and approp- <br />riate the sum of $1,440. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 23. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />or take from available funds the sum of $2,000 to finance the Mashpee <br />Head Start Program. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded to raise and appropriate the sum of <br />$2,000. A unanimous vote. <br />Article 24. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate ' <br />$1,500 for sanitary facilities (chemical) at South Cape Beach. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded that article be accepted as read. <br />A vote. <br />Article 25. To see if the Town will instruct the Board of Selectmen <br />to petition the Massachusetts Divison of waterways to dredge a channel from <br />Wacuoit Bay into Great and Little Rivers to a minimum depth of 6 feet and <br />width of 50 feet. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be tabled. A vote. <br />Article 26. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br />the sum of $10,000 for the Conservation Commission Fund in accordance <br />with Chapter 40, Section 5, Clause 51 of the General. Laws, or take any <br />other action thereon. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded that article be accepted as read. <br />So voted. <br />Article 27. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of <br />Selectmen to sell to Richardson Jonas of Mashpee, a parcel of land formerly <br />owned by Frederick D. Jonas et al and which parcel is described in a deed <br />by the Collector of Taxes for the Town of Mashpee to the Town of Mashpee <br />and recorded in Barnstable County Deeds, Book 495, Page 361 for the sum ' <br />of $54.48. <br />Action: Motion made and seconded article be amended to read $254.48. <br />A vote. Motion made and seconded article be accepted as <br />amended. A vote. <br />Article 28. To see if the Town will vote to sell certain land owned <br />by the Town, to wit, parcels 48, 50 and 51 situated between Cedar Street <br />and Hemlock Street in the Town of Mashpee as more particularly shown on Town of <br />Mashpee Assessors' Plan Sheet 77, for a total. sale price of no less than <br />Five Hundred (8500) Dollars. Sale of said land to be made to Leonard W. <br />Peck and Margaret S. Peck, husband and wife, as tenants by the entirety, <br />both of Piney Road, Cotuit, Massachusetts. <br />
