She said
they are requesting to replace signage at corner of Route 151 and Old Barnstable Road, which is on
Town right of way so application also needs Board of Selectmen approval.
• No lighting associated with sign.
• Sign is 6-112 feet X 4 feet that would be for both Bridges at Mashpee and the Quashnet Valley
Country Club. Sign is 20 square feet.
• Sign going in same location as current sign.
• Will not be a lit sign.
• Temporary Bridges construction sign also there now.
Scott Carline (Police Department) and Catherine Laurent (DPW) confirmed there Is no obstruction of
view issue.
Motion: Mary LeBlanc motioned to approve sign presented today by Bridges for the
Bridges/Quashnet Valley combined sign and be conditioned that there be no future lighting and sign
will be installed in exact location as current sign. Jonathan Furbush seconded this motion; and it was
unanimously approved by Design Review.
Discussion
Mary LeBlanc stated Joel Clifford brought to her attention last week that a couple of signs have bright
lighting that interferes with their vehicles. Mary said she found other communities that have
requirements regarding sign lighting and she was thinking of reaching out to the Cape Cod
Commission to see whether they have a "lighting" standard. Mary said perhaps Mashpee should start
working on that.
Mike Mendoza said during Design/Plan Review the whole issue of lighting is addressed. He said
since not under By -Law now, those places with lighting would probably be grandfathered. Mike
suggested looking into what other communities have now and perhaps submit at a future Town
Meeting. Mike said it comes down to what is the acceptable brightness.
Mary LeBlanc exited the meeting at 9;25 a -m.
Zoning Articles
Pub _Brewery/M icrobrewery
The Committee reviewed the proposed Article that would amend zoning by-law to allow pub
breweries and microbreweries.
Mike Mendoza said definition for microbrewery is more an enforcement Issue. Will Building Inspector
be expected to keep track of quantity capacity? Joyce Mason suggested asking the Town Planner
what is intent of limiting capacity. Catherine Laurent said the limitation is probably to restrict to
distinguish "microbrewery", She said same question would apply to "pub brewery".
