She stated that she and Ms. Mitchell have worked really hard to <br /> get the program up and running quickly. We've had <br /> people apply <br /> 14 have been denied so far <br /> 14 people are currently on the program <br /> are being processed right now <br /> The remaining are on the waiting list <br /> Of the 14 on the program now, 12 are on the ongoing rental assistance s veterans, 3 working and living <br /> in Mashpee, 4 just living in Mashpee ; 1 received short-term emergency mortgage assistance; 1 received <br /> short-term rental assistance. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> t1 date on Governor's Commission for Public Housin ustainabali Reform Adviso Committee: Mrs. <br /> Botsford provided the members with an summary of the commission's final report to Governor Patrick and <br /> went over the recommendations made. <br /> Mrs. Botsford reminded the board Executive Order issued to create a Commission for Public Housing <br /> Sustainability and Reform. They had 60 days to investigate and issue a recommendation to Governor <br /> Patrick. 23 members of the commission, while only 2 were housing authority Executive Directors. <br /> The recommendation given was that all H s with fewer than Zoo or 250 state only public housing units <br /> would be managed under a single, unified property management system for about 1million a year, <br /> every year. The commission did not have time to decide on all the fine details (for example, who may be <br /> exempt, what services exactly will stay local) so they recommended an advisory committee be assigned <br /> by the governor to work out the details. The governor ask6d DFICD to assign members to the Advisory <br /> Committee and they decided to just re-assign everyone that was on the commission. MassNAHRO <br /> objected on behalf of housing authorities, especially small ores who would be affected. DHCD then <br /> agreed to also add the Executive Director of Mass[ AHF (Torn Connelly) and two additional Executive <br /> Directors. Mark Roy—Canton and Mrs. Botsford. The Advisory Committee has met once and the sub- <br /> committees are set. The one Mrs. Botsford is serving on is set to meet next Friday in Boston. <br /> Mrs. Basford also reviewed several other recommendations made by the commission, which are likely to <br /> be implemented soon: <br /> statewide waiting list (computerized) would be established, similar to the Section 8 --which <br /> takes the burden off t.Hs to process multiple applications. <br /> • Board member training for all members of housing authority boards will be required. <br /> • Verification of board member attendance at regular meetings. <br /> Fiscal Policies &Procedures Update: Mrs. Botsford reviewed the suggested changes with the board and it <br /> was agreed that it all rude sense to update it so that it was in more line with what the authority was <br /> actually doing. A motion was made by Ms. Allen and seconded by Mr. Harsch to adapt the <br /> updated Fiscal Policies&Procedures as drafted. The motion carried. <br /> Updated CORI Pork _Mrs. Botsford reviewed the suggested policy with the board and explained that it <br /> reflects the new COF I law that is now in effect. The proposed policy is based on the one suggested on <br /> the website of the Department of Criminal justice Information Services. A motion was made by Mr. <br /> H rsch and seconded by Mr, Shackett to adopt the updated CORI Policy as drafted. The <br /> motion carried. <br /> Rewrote Participation Polis Mrs. Botsford reviewed the suggested policy with the board and explained <br /> that it reflects the abilities we have under the new open Meeting Law.
