page 2.. <br /> FEED ROOM: • <br /> The owner shall provide a separate vermin-proof and insect-free storage <br /> area for grain and other dry feed. The owner shall provide refrigeration <br /> facilities for storage of fresh animal food. <br /> DRAINAGE AND WASTE DISPOSAL: <br /> 1 : All drainage and waste shall be disposed of in a sanitary maner as ap- <br /> proved by the Board of Health or the Animal Inspector. <br /> 2. Manure shall be removed from the barn or stable at least daily. No ma- <br /> nure or used bedding material shall remain outside the barn unless col- <br /> lected in compost piles or unless it is picked up regularly by a manure <br /> collection firm. The frequency of collection must be approved by the <br /> Board of Health or the Animal Inspector. The manure and used bedding <br /> stockpiled for collection shall 'be adequately covered to eliminate odor, <br /> flies or other nuisance.. <br /> 3. If uneaten feed, manure and used bedding are collected in compost piles, <br /> they shall be treated or covered with earth loam or other suitable ma- <br /> terial in sufficient amounts to eliminate any odor, flies, or other <br /> nuisance. Compost piles shall be a minimum distance of 150 feet from any <br /> private well, 400 feet from any public well and 200 feet from any wet- <br /> land. <br /> OPEN SHEDS: <br /> All open sheds shall be three sided, roofed and approved by the Board of <br /> Health or the Anomal Inspector and the Buildin Inspector. <br /> WATER TROUGH: <br /> A drinking water supply shall be provided. in the enclosure area for the <br /> animals. <br /> ENCLOSURES: <br /> The fencing of all enclosures shall .be of sufficient strength and height <br /> to restrain the animals. Animals shall be restrained at all times. <br /> All outdoor enclosures shall be graded and drained in such a fashion as <br /> to prevent standing pools of water and drainage onto abutting properties. <br /> DISPOSAL OF DEAD ANIMALS: <br /> All dead animals shall tie disposed of in a manner and location as approved <br /> by the Board of Health or the Animal Inspector. <br /> PERMITS: <br /> No person shall keep or maintain, for any purpose; a stable, barn or coop <br /> without prior approval of the Board of Health. The applicant is respon <br /> sible for obtaining the necessary zoning By-law approvals prior to seek- <br /> ing Board of Health approval. <br /> The annual fee for a Permit shall be $50.00. The permit shall expire <br /> annualy on December 31. <br /> Thoseersons keeping farm animals and/or poultry prior to the effective <br /> P P 9 <br /> date of these re may continue to do so provided that: <br /> g Y <br /> 1. A permit is applied for and granted by the <br /> Board of Health. <br /> 2. The farm animals and/or poultry became registered with the Board <br /> of Health <br /> 3. Any required variances be applied for and granted by the Board of <br /> Health after satisfying the Zoning By-laws. <br />
