MINUTES October 12, 1989 4: BOARD of HEALTH <br /> 77 <br /> } <br /> 1r. Ferguson questioned the Board as to why, at the present time, the <br /> burden cannot be placed with the Committee. This Committee will continue <br /> to work with the Board of Health, as fair as , the protocol . <br /> Mr. Costa stated this Board was going to institute the flushing program <br /> if that was still the recommendation of 1 stun & Sampson .when we met with <br /> the Selectmen. Mr. Costa commented Weston & Sampson are still awaiting the <br /> report from High Wood Water and will attend the Selectmen 's meeting Monday. <br /> Mir. Costa stated another issue remaining is the cost for further testing. <br /> . Greelish explained that the ph' s noted in the report are not off <br /> line enought to explain the leaching of the lead to the degrees which are <br /> being seen. Mr. Greelish reiterated his earlier comments stating this <br /> Board is awaiting High Wood Mater results. <br /> Selectmen Hanson stated High Wood Waters report is only in draft fora <br /> however i i l provide -this report to the Board tomorrow morning. Selectmen <br /> Hanson stated he will provide this if it is only excepted as a draft from <br /> the company. <br /> . Ferguson questioned -the recommended limit of 20 ppb required by this <br /> Board as opposed to the 50 ppb recommended limit stated by Weston & Sampson. <br /> Mr. Costa informed Nor. Ferguson 20 ppb is the new recommended limit for <br /> lead and explained next year the limit is to be set at o ppb. This require- <br /> ment will be set by the State and County. <br /> Mr, Costa informed her. Gerquson that the architect for the new school <br /> recommended this Board retain Weston & Sampson to perform the sampling and <br /> studies and commented Town Counsel relayed this information to this Board <br /> Selectmen Hanson stated this is the Building Committee' s responsibility <br /> toe t i fY the, i tuat i n. <br /> r <br /> Mr. Greeff i h responded, legally it i this Board' s responsibi l it to deter- <br /> mine the cause. <br /> Selectmen Hanson stated. i f this is the Board' s de i s i on' then they must <br /> provide funding for this determination. <br /> Mr. Greelish.. stated Weston & S -meson presented their preliminary findings , <br /> non definitive-, <br /> + <br /> Mr.. Hanson questioned why those recommendations were placed in the report. <br /> Mr. Greelish responded they are general recommendations and commented <br /> Weston & Sampson indicated they cannot give us a definitive cause, Mr. Greelish <br /> stated at the meeting Weston & Sampson agree to gait and consuit with the <br /> Selectmen. <br /> Mr. Costa stated the report was incomplete and should not have been re- <br /> leased and commented this Board was trying to cooperate by keeping the town <br /> abreast of the situation. <br />
