A h r"s Path: we had all rents paid in full at Asher's Path, which the exception of the one who has a
small balance. of the three vacancies, two have been rented and we are in the process of filling the
remaining one. As usual, the monthly newsletter was sent out to all residents. MassHousing has
scheduled their annual Property Management Review for March 10, 2010.
Misc.:
0 The monthly M VP AHVP/DMH reports were submitted.
• The monthly Energy Consumption reports were submitted.
• I attended the following meetings: SHADO (Small Housing Authority Director's organization)
meeting, MassNAHRO Professional Development committee, and the Cape Cod Executive
Director's meeting. I also attended a training on Reasonable Accommodation and the Fair
Housing Law.
I sent a letter to the Mashpee Board of Health regarding the rent regulation and the fact that
it violates Fair Housing Law. They have since withdrawn the regulation.
Annual recertifications for Homeyer Village and Breezy acres are all done and lease
addendums have all been signed.
AnnuaI 'inspections of Horne er Village and Breezy Acres have been scheduled for March.
I received permission from the Commonwealth to do our annual disposition of records.
Those records are in the process of being shred.
As of March 31, the three recipients of the DMH rental program are leaving the house they
rent in Mashpee and going to the tern of Barnstable.
•
This month, with the help of Comcast and Adams Communications, the phone system at
Asher's Path was merged with the main office. In the end, we expect to save at least
$1,000.00 a year by using this merged system.
ANVP Vouchers: we have 2 AHVP vouchers.
MRVP VOUCHERS(MOBILE): Currently vire have 16 voucher holders in Mashpee.
RVP Project Based Vouchers: we currently have 38 PB vouchers leased.
DMH Program: we currently have 3 leased.
Section 8: we currently have 9 Housing Choice Vouchers leased in Mashpee.
Attachment B:
Breezy Acres Expansion Update
B
We held Grp on submitting our Project Eligibility Letter(PEL) application to MHP in order to resolve the
septic issue. We worked with the town and unfortunately were not able to come to an agreement that is
financially viable for our project. Once that was determined, we submitted our PEL application, about
weeks ago; we heard from them about a week later, with a long list of questions and clarifications. It
was mostly seeking historical informatioa and documents that took us about a week to gather up. In
particular, they are concerned about the wording on the deed regarding the nature of the housing —the
deed sags`public'which, in the legal eyes of the state, is not the same as'affordable.' So, they are
holding onto our PEL application until that is resolved. we've asked our lawyer for a quick resolution, and
he'making the change as we speak. We'll verify with MHP that it is sufficient, and then go to town
counsel for their review and assessment of whether this can be Dandled by the selectmen or if it requires
a town meeting vote. Cross your fingers.
Site Plan Review
We went before the site plan review committee and they were very pleased with our site and our status.
They asked for some very minor changes for fire truck access, which we will make. They approved our
drawings and we are not required to return to them before we go to the BA. There was considerable
discontent that vire had not succeeded in hooking up to the high school system, but there was also
general understanding of our position. This issue may resurface, but we need to move forward. If
approached, I think we are open to discussions, but our limitations have not changed. DEP is also
concerned that things have turned out this way.
-3-
