6 Board of Selectmen Minutes February 11, 2002 Approval of Consulting Services—Financial Software Program: The Selectmen were in receipt of two requests for services to provide implementation of the Town's new financial software program. In particular, quotes were received from Powers & Sullivan, certified public accountants to design a chart of accounts in conformity with the Uniform Municipal Accounting System to be used with the MUNIS automated accounting system in the amount of$10,000 and for consulting services to assist the Treasurer/Tax Collector's Office with the implementation of an automated cashbook(QuickBooks) and to assist with the reconciliation of cash for the fiscal year 2002. The fee for this service is $4,000. In addition to the proposal, it was also noted that the Selectmen recently approved the contract for project management services regarding the implementation of the MUNIS software with JFK Systems. Motion made by Selectman Leveille to approve the(2) requests from Powers & Sullivan for services in the amount of$14,000 as described. Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Adoption of Affirmative Action Mission Statement: Jan Strickland, Chairman of the Affirmative Action Committee was present to request the Selectmen adopt the Mission Statement—To Insure Those Who Reside In Mashpee, The Opportunity To Achieve Their "Dream"In Life Without Distinction. Motion made by Selectman Leveille to adopt the Affirmative Action Mission Statement as presented. Motion seconded by Selectman Green. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Mr. Strickland also announced that the Multicultural Festival of Cape Cod would be held on Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Cape Cod Community College. It is a celebration of diverse cultures. Volunteers are needed to support the program.
