Date: March 1, 2011 To: Board of Trustees From: Janet Burke Re: Monthly Report The Cape Cod Children's Librarians Roundtable held its 191h Annual Cape-Wide Family Library Event on February 19th at the Cape Cod Community College. Our mission is to come together as a group.and provide affordable family entertainment for Cape Cod. This year's entertainment, Debbie and Friends, performed for an audience of almost 400. Tickets were priced at $2.00 if purchased ata participating library, or$3.00 at the door. Random House, Inc. generously donated books, and each child left with a brand new book in their hands, well worth the price of admission. My role in this project was to hire the entertainer, book the venue, coordinate the technicians, and do the publicity. It was a very successful event. F S'a Yry, } s 4 t j i Debbie and Friends at CCCC Children's Librarians on Stage On February 4th I attended the CLAMS Legislative Breakfast which was held here at the Mash pee Public Library. There was a tremendous turnout of approximately 100 people, including 5 State Reps and 2 State Senators. The Kids Klub Preschool visited the library on February 4th. There were 20 children for the seasonal story time. I collaborated with the Mashpee Family and Community Partnership to bring a parenting workshop to the library. Cindy Horgan presented a four-part series on "Strengthening Families" and the final evening was held on February 8th with an attendance of 25. The Silverfish Book Club for 2nd and 3`d graders met on February 15th. 10 out of the 12 registered members participated this month. Parents provide the snack while we discuss the monthly book. Then.the children draw a picture and these pictures are on display in the children's department.
