10 <br /> Condifions, and Operating Policies for the <br /> Operation of a Communi'cations, Center <br /> for the Town of as free <br /> by the Barnstable County Sheriffs Office <br /> 0 <br /> The intent of this, agreement is to describe the mutual responsibilities of the Barnstable County <br /> Sheriff s Office and the Town of Mashpee in the cooperative operation of a primary-fire <br /> department dispatch system. This agreement shall cover the period from July 1, 20 19 through <br /> June 30, 2020, and shall renew on an annual basis unless cancelled by either party. Each year <br /> the parties shall agree to a new annual fee for fire dispatch and Cl" ED and update the attached <br /> fee addendum. <br /> The policies and procedures regarding the operation and administration of the Sheriffs <br /> Communications, Center is the responsibility of the Sheriff. With regard to all otherpolicies and <br /> procedures concerning public safety within the Town, of Mashpee, they are the responsibilities of <br /> the Town of'Mashpee. <br /> The Primary Answering Point and Radio Dispatch System is to be operated by the Sheriff. All <br /> Mashpee Fire Department 911 emergency calls will be answered by the Mashpee Primary PSAP <br /> located at the Sheriff s Office Communications Center, as well as the seven digit fire department <br /> emergency number, for call processing and dispatching over Mashpee fire frequencies. The <br /> Town of Mashpee shall maintain the ability, within the Mashpee Police Department Dispatch <br /> Center, to serve as a back-up fire department dispatch system, <br /> The Sheriff is responsible for all operational aspects of the Communications Center, including <br /> the answering ofernergency telephone traffic and the dispatching of fire apparatus for the Town <br /> of Mashpee. <br /> 0 <br /> The is ate System shall operate in the followi*ng manner, <br /> I. Fire/EMS calls for service are to be answered at the Sheriffs Office <br /> Communication Center. The primary responsibility for the operation and <br /> procedures used by the Primary PSAP remain with the Sheriff s Office in <br /> accordance with the SETB. <br /> IL Primary responsibility for answering and dispatching for the Mashpee Fire <br /> Department placed on the (508) 477-1234 Fire Department seven (7) digit <br /> emergency line, lies with the Sheriff s Office ��.muni cat'Ions Center. <br /> Due to the nature of routing the "477"' telephone number to Otis Fire, there is a <br /> long distance charge placed on each call., These charges will be billed,to the <br /> Town of Mashpee, not the Caller, if applicable. <br /> Emergency calls that are received by the Mashpee Police Department for-fire or <br /> ambulance via telephone or radio, shall be transferred directly to the Barnstable <br /> Sheriff's Office Communications Center. <br />
