32. Oversees enforcement of state and local laws and reg6 lations regarding catch limits; <br /> protecting shellfish from over fishing or other detrimental actions. Provides for the <br /> posting and maintenance of shellfishing signs and maps through the Shellfish Constable. <br /> 33. Evaluates project applications and makes recommendations to the Conservation <br /> Commission as needed. <br /> 34. Directs, maintains, and coordinates the Mashpee Water Quality Monitoring Program and <br /> Laboratory. Performs or provides for the performance of laboratory analysis of water and <br /> other samples. <br /> 35. Responsible for the implementation of the shellfish components of the Mashpee <br /> Comprehensive Wastewater and Nitrogen Management Plan. <br /> 36. Complies with lawful and ethical instructions or directives issued to him by the Town <br /> Manager. <br /> 37. Performs other similar or related duties as required or as the situation dictates. <br /> ERRORS AND OMISSIONS <br /> Errors or omissions, inadequate coordination, untimely work, inaccuracies and actions beyond <br /> one's delegated scope of authority may result in technical flaws triggering assumed decisions, <br /> may produce extra work, may impose injurious financial loss or have other legal ramifications, <br /> may result in damage to boats, vehicles or equipment, adverse public relations, reduced level of <br /> services and 'potential injury., risk to the environment, natural resources, and danger to public <br /> health and safety. <br /> M I N I M,U M <br /> Education.Training and and Experience. Bachelor's degree in environmental science marine biology <br /> 7_ Exr erie .1 <br /> or related field; at least three years of effective experience in marine or natural resource <br /> management; at least three years of effective enforcement experience; at least three years of <br /> supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience <br /> which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to <br /> perform the essential functions of the job. <br /> Knowlle.dg,e Skills and Abilities: <br /> Knowledge: Possess comprehensive knowledge of marine, environmental and shellfish sciences; <br /> comprehensive knowledge of natural resources and 'nutrient management; comprehensive <br /> knowledge of waterway and shellfish operations; comprehensive knowledge of Town, state and <br /> federal waterways, and shellfish laws and regulations governing the control of waterways,, <br /> boating and shellfish.; comprehensive knowledge of local geography and waterways; <br /> comprehensive knowledge of tidal conditions and currents; general knowledge of boat engines <br /> and equipment. Knowledge of marine fisheries laws and regulations. <br />
