36
Forest Warden
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen:
I hereby submit my report for the year ending December
31, 1961.
4
There were eighteen brush fires during the year. The area
burnt over was very small in each case as there were no
fires larger than class A.
I would like to caution all persons about dumping hot or
glowing trash from incinerators and fire places in the town
dump as it could cause a serious forest fire.
Truck number 3, the brush breaker, is badly in need of
repairs and I hope it can be repaired in time for forest fire
season. I have asked for sufficient funds to replace and repair.
the most important items. This truck is impossible to replace
now or any other time as the cost of such equipment is about
$30,000. We must keep this one in good running condition;
we can't afford to lose it through neglected repairs. f
I
Respectfully submitted,
ELLSWORTH PETERS
Forest Warden
