96 <br />We are also indebted to the Falmouth School Committee, <br />Superintendent Harry Merson, _ Principal Russell Marshall <br />and the personnel of the Falmouth High School for the good <br />job they do year after year in preparing our Mashpee High <br />School students for higher schools of learning or a place in <br />everyday life. <br />School Committee <br />Mrs. Josephine D. Mills, Chairman of the Mashpee School <br />Committee notified the Committee members and the Super. <br />intendent of Schools early in January that she would not <br />be a candidate for reelection to the School Committee in <br />March. The School Committee and Administration accepted <br />the notification with regret. Mrs. Mills served faithfully, hon- <br />orably and conscientiously at all times having the education <br />and social values of the Mashpee children uppermost in her <br />mind. <br />Mr. George Morrison replaced Mrs. Mills and served ably <br />until it became necessary for him to resign when he estab- <br />lished a residence in Hyannis. The School Committee and <br />Administration recommended to the Honorable Board of Se- <br />lectmen that Mr. Vernon Thomas be named to replace Mr. <br />Morrison and the request was honored. <br />Mrs. Louise C. Costill, the efficient Secretary and mem- <br />ber of the Mashpee School Committee submitted her resig- <br />nation to the Board of Selectmen early in the summer. Her <br />position was filled with the appointment of Mrs. Alice Hicks <br />who also accepted the secretarial post. <br />School Lunch Program <br />Mrs. Marion Hendricks, manager of the Samuel G. Davis <br />School lunch program resigned at the close of the 1964-65 <br />school year for reasons of health. Mrs. Hendricks served cap- <br />ably over the years in preparing and serving nutritious hot <br />lunches to the school children. Mrs. Louise Costill was ap- <br />pointed by the School Committee to the position vacated by <br />Mrs. Hendricks. <br />Custodial <br />Mr. Leigh Potter resigned as part time custodian at the <br />.close- of the 1964-65 school year and Mr. Earl Dixon was ap- <br />pointed to the position. Mr. Dixon served well until his health <br />
