97
forced him to resign in the late fall. Mr. Joseph Morrison was
named to replace Mr. Dixon and in a short period of time, he
has proved himself to be an outstanding member of the
school family.
Maintenance
Much was accomplished during 1965 in the way of reno-
vations, new equipment, and replacement.
1. A new corridor ceiling was installed in the original
Samuel G. Davis School.
2. A new rear door and a boiler room door were in-
stalled.
3. The interior of the original Samuel G. Davis School
was painted—classrooms, halls, closets, storage areas,
ceilings, entry and stairwells.
4. Principal's office was refurbished.
5. Teachers' room was refurbished.
6• A new section of chain link fence was installed.
7. A new refrigerator was installed in the cafeteria.
8. A new vacuum pump was installed.
Conclusion
There are other items I could comment upon but I have
included those of major importance and rather than be repe-
titious in my remarks, I refer you to the report of Mr. Ken-
neth Coombs, Principal of the Samuel G. Davis School.
In conclusion, I have every reason to believe that Mash -
pee takes pride in its school, the welfare of the young people
who attend and those who serve the young people day in and
day out. I extend sincere appreciation to all who are con-
cerned with the welfare and progress of the children of Mash -
pee who attend the Samuel G. Davis School, Barnstable Jun-
ior High School, Barnstable Vocational High School and Fal-
mouth High School.
Respectfully submitted,
CLAYTON E. CAMPBELL,
Superintendent of Schools
