45 <br /> designated by the Town, as to his or her physical fitness to <br /> perform the duties of the position to which such applicant <br /> seeks appointment, and as to any physical condition of the <br /> applicant which might adversely affect the insurance cover- <br /> age of the Town under Chapter 152 of the General Laws or <br /> the group insurance coverage of other Town employees. No <br /> employment shall be considered approved until the medical <br /> certificate has been received by the Personnel Board. <br /> New or Changed Positions <br /> (a) Whenever the Personnel Board approves a new posi- <br /> tion within an existing department, or the duties of an exist- <br /> ing position are to be changed so that a new level of work <br /> demand exists and in effect a new position is created, upon <br /> presentation of substantiating data satisfactory to the Per- <br /> sonnei Board, the Board as hereinafter provided, shall rate <br /> such new or changed position and allocate it to its appropri- <br /> ate group and establish the rate range therefor. <br /> (b) Data on a changed or intended new job or position <br /> shall be furnished to the Board in the form required by the <br /> Board. <br /> (c) After the Town has voted to approve any new position <br /> and the money has been appropriated therefor, it will be the <br /> responsibility of the Personnel Board to review the back- <br /> ground of applicants for the new position and make recom- <br /> mendations including a probation period. The Selectmen <br /> will then make the final decision. <br /> Combination and Multiple Jobs <br /> For the purpose of increased efficiency, and in order to <br /> provide the opportunity for full time employment, two or <br /> more jobs which can normally be performed on a part time <br /> basis may be consolidated into one combined job, subject <br /> to the approval of the Personnel Board. <br /> Titles of Positions <br /> No persons shall be appointed, employed, or paid as an <br /> employee in any position subject to the provisions of the <br /> Salary Administration Plan under any title other than those <br /> of the Classification Schedule, or any title other than that <br /> of the job the duties of which are actually performed. The <br /> job title in the Classification Schedule of the Plan shall be <br /> the official title for all purposes having to do with the posi- <br /> tion and shall be used to designate the position in all pay- <br /> rolls, budget estimates and official reports, and in every <br /> other connection involving personnel and fiscal processes. <br />
