46 Reclassification of Employees No employee may be reclassified to a job in another group, either higher or lower, until the Personnel Board shall have determined such a reclassification will be consist- ent with the provisions of the Salary Administration Plan and shall have approved the reclassification. Department Budgets Each Department Head shall include in the annual budget a pay adjustment section to provide funds for anti- cipated pay adjustments during the ensuing year, expendi- rA tures to be made only in accordance with the Salary Ad- ministration Plan at its adoption, and any others which may be included in the future. C Labor Group A regular employee shall be compensated at straight time for hours worked in excess of his established work week except for work performed in connection with snow and ice removal. For work in snow and ice removal, compensation shall be 1.5 times the employee's basic rate for time over 8 hours daily. Public Safety Group An employee occupying a position in this group is not entitled to overtime compensation except that a uniformed member of the Police Department below the rank of Chief shall receive compensation at straight time for hours worked in excess of 8 in one day or 48 in one week. Supervisory Group An employee occupying a position classified in this group is not entitled to overtime compensation. j PAID HOLIDAYS (a) The following days shall be recognized as legal boli- days within the meaning of this by-law: New Year's Day Labor Day Washington's Birthday Columbus Day Patriots Day Veterans Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Day Independence Day Christmas Day on which days regular employees shall be excused from all day duty, except those required to maintain essential Town services who shall be given time off or compensation at the "J 11 discretion of the Department Head.
