27
Report of the Planning Board
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee:
'1 During 1971 the Planning Board approved 8 subdivisions
n in the following sections of the Town:
e Santuit Pond, Mashpee Lake, New Seabury (2), Route 28
,s at Noisy Hole Road, Great Neck Road at Ashers Path, and
e
r Shoe String Bay.
3 These subdivisions included approximately 450 lots and
the associated fees brought in a revenue of $487.00.
s At the special meeting in August, the town adopted a
completely revised zoning by-law. This by-law was the cul-
mination of two years work during which time the Planning
Board and Community Planning Services developed a master
plan for the town.
One of the major features of the new zoning by-law is
simplified outline for cluster zoning. The new by-law became
effective in October of 1971 and already 2 cluster proposals
have been submitted, which is .evidence that the cluster zon-
ing by-law is workable. This is very satisfying to the Plan-
ning Board because we believe cluster zoning to be an excel-
lent method of allowing for progress, while preserving the
natural attractions and beauty of Mashpee.
Respectfully submitted,
EARLE M. MARSTERS, Chairman
JOSEPH A. DELANEY
RICHARDSON H. JONAS
ARTHUR F. KOCH
WILLIAM H. C. LEHMANN
