28 <br /> Report of the Librarian <br /> i <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> 1971. <br /> Number Bound Volumes 3,715 <br /> Adult 1,464 <br /> Juveniles 1,548 <br /> Reference Books all ages 703 <br /> Total Number Volumes of: <br /> Adult books circulated 57 <br /> Juvenile books circulated 220 <br /> Total Books Circulated 277 <br /> New books have been purchased as in the past with town <br /> funds, especially in the juvenile and young adult category, <br /> also adult books, best sellers, and many new books on fine <br /> arts and recreation. <br /> New books have also been donated by the Friends of <br /> The Library, they still have open meetings and monthly talks <br /> at the Library to which the public is welcome once a month. <br /> Two new magazine subscriptions have been donated, also <br /> a newspaper by friends and summer residents. <br /> Book circulation is about the same with the exception <br /> of Adult books which has increased, due to the many new <br /> and popular books which are being written today by new <br /> authors, especially in the biography and autobiography class. <br /> Story hour is still being held on Saturday mornings from <br /> 10:00- 11:00 a.m., sponsored by the P.T.A. <br /> I wish to thank all those who have helped in giving <br /> their time, donations of books, papers, etc. Also the Library <br /> Trustees. <br /> i <br /> L brary Hours <br /> Monday and Friday 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. <br /> Wednesday and Thursday12 to <br /> noon 3.00 p.m. <br /> i <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> ADELINE B.
