43
Report of the Park and Recreation Commission
It gives the Park and Recreation Commission great pleasure
to report that the baseball field is near completion, except for
benches and water which we hope to have installed .this coming
spring. A new chain link fence was installed this past year, along
with various other things such as reseeding of the outfield..
The Little League played in a League tournament at Hyannis
this past year; although they didn't win they did a very outstanding
job and were praised highly for the effort they put into all the
games they played. At the end of the season a cookout in their
honor was held at the M;ashpee Rod & Gun Club.
There were three teams in the Kiwanis Basketball tournament,
and they were coached by Mr. Ronald Pocknett, Donald Hicks, Sr.
and Larry Dove.
For the second year The Mashpee Softball Team played in the
Barnstable tournament. This year they won a trophy which the
town was very proud of. They were coached by Mr. Oliver Pock-
nett and Eddie Peters who both did an outstanding job.
The Commissioners greatly appreciate the contributions which
were given by the many merchants in town towards the support of
all baseball and basketball leagues.
Respectfully submitted by
FREDERICK A. PETERS, Chairman
BARBARA L. PETERS, Secretary
LARRY E. DOVE .
LEIGH N. POTTER
CARRIE SAUNDERS
