129
Report of the
Mashpee Municipal Water Study Commission
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee:
The Municipal Water Study Commission was created at
the 1974 Annual Town Meeting to study the possible creation
of a Municipal Water Supply System, and to investigate the
need, financing and operation of such a system. After such
a study, and within 18 months of its inception, a full report
was to be released to the Town with the recommendations
of the committee.
Commission members have met with six different con-
sulting engineering firms (at no cost to the Town) for con-
sultation and discussion during 1974-75.
The Cape-wide Water Study to be carried out by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been thoroughly reviewed
and found to be little or no use to the immediate needs of
Mashpee. Several more meetings are scheduled with at least
` one public hearing, before a report will be finalized.
l
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the com-
mittee, the representatives of the Fire Department, and the
various consulting engineers, who have so generously assisted
this commission.
Respectfully submitted,
s.
JOHN F. MALONE
Acting Chairman
