SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT JANUARY 29, 1975 Article 15: To see if the Town will amend the zoning bylaws as follows in Section VII, Land Space Requirements--table footnotes: "On lots abutting streets or public ways on more than one side the front yard requirements shall apply to each of the abutting streets and public ways. In the case of undefined ways, the measurements shall be taken from the center of the road and an additional twenty feet shall be required." Submitted by Planning Board. Recom- mended by Board of Selectmen. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 15 as read. For 162, 2 opposed. Article 16: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of$5,000.00 for the salary of the Building Inspector, effective January 1, 1975. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. Not recommended by Personnel Board. Not recommended by Finance Committee as it is felt that much further study is needed to determine the workload of this position and what an equitable salary would be. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to table Article 16, for 124, opposed 45. Article required two-thirds vote. Article 17: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of $600.00 for the Building Inspector's Expense Account for the period of January 1, through June 30, 1975. Submitted by the Board of Select- men. Not recommended by Finance Committee as 75% of the appropriation for the full fiscal year is still available. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to table Article 17. For 126, opposed 5. Motion carried. Article 18: To see whether the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to appoint a Building Code Board of Appeals for the purpose of hearing appeals pertaining to a Building Inspector's actions in accord with the provisions con- tained in the State Building Code, Section 126.8, which will become effective on January 1, 1975, said Board to consist of five (5) members, one member to be appointed for five (5)years, one member for four (4)years, one member for three (3)years, one member for two (2)years, and one member to serve for one (1)year, and thereafter, each new member is to serve for five (5)years or until his successor has been appointed. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 18 as read. Unani- mously voted. Motion carried. Article 19: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the sum of$500.00 to be placed in an account for Expenses of the Executive Secre- tary. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. Recommended by Finance Committee as this is a new position and funds are needed so that the Executive Secretary will be able to carry out his duties in full. ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 19 as read. Unanimously voted. Motion carried. Article 20: To see if the Town will vote to amend its By-laws by deleteing from Chapter 1, Article 1, Section (A)the following sentence: I "The election of officers shall be held on the succeeding Wednesday."
