SPECIAL TOWN MEETING WARRANT <br /> JANUARY 29, 1975 <br /> Article 15: To see if the Town will amend the zoning bylaws as follows <br /> in Section VII, Land Space Requirements--table footnotes: <br /> "On lots abutting streets or public ways on more than one side the <br /> front yard requirements shall apply to each of the abutting streets <br /> and public ways. In the case of undefined ways, the measurements <br /> shall be taken from the center of the road and an additional twenty <br /> feet shall be required." Submitted by Planning Board. Recom- <br /> mended by Board of Selectmen. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 15 as read. For <br /> 162, 2 opposed. <br /> Article 16: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the <br /> sum of$5,000.00 for the salary of the Building Inspector, effective January 1, <br /> 1975. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. Not recommended by Personnel <br /> Board. Not recommended by Finance Committee as it is felt that much further <br /> study is needed to determine the workload of this position and what an equitable <br /> salary would be. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to table Article 16, for 124, opposed <br /> 45. Article required two-thirds vote. <br /> Article 17: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds <br /> the sum of $600.00 for the Building Inspector's Expense Account for the <br /> period of January 1, through June 30, 1975. Submitted by the Board of Select- <br /> men. Not recommended by Finance Committee as 75% of the appropriation <br /> for the full fiscal year is still available. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to table Article 17. For 126, <br /> opposed 5. Motion carried. <br /> Article 18: To see whether the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen <br /> to appoint a Building Code Board of Appeals for the purpose of hearing appeals <br /> pertaining to a Building Inspector's actions in accord with the provisions con- <br /> tained in the State Building Code, Section 126.8, which will become effective <br /> on January 1, 1975, said Board to consist of five (5) members, one member <br /> to be appointed for five (5)years, one member for four (4)years, one member <br /> for three (3)years, one member for two (2)years, and one member to serve <br /> for one (1)year, and thereafter, each new member is to serve for five (5)years <br /> or until his successor has been appointed. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 18 as read. Unani- <br /> mously voted. Motion carried. <br /> Article 19: To see if the Town will vote to take from available funds the <br /> sum of$500.00 to be placed in an account for Expenses of the Executive Secre- <br /> tary. Submitted by Board of Selectmen. Recommended by Finance Committee <br /> as this is a new position and funds are needed so that the Executive Secretary <br /> will be able to carry out his duties in full. <br /> ACTION: Motion duly made and seconded to accept Article 19 as read. <br /> Unanimously voted. Motion carried. <br /> Article 20: To see if the Town will vote to amend its By-laws by <br /> deleteing from Chapter 1, Article 1, Section (A)the following sentence: <br /> I <br /> "The election of officers shall be held on the succeeding <br /> Wednesday."
