43 <br /> 6. Shellfish shall be taken only by hand, rake, hoe, <br /> plunger, and tongs, excepting scallops which may be taken <br /> by dredging but no dredging shall be allowed in inner harbors. <br /> 7. Excepting on Sundays and in the night time, and <br /> excepting from areas closed to shellfishing by order of the <br /> Selelctmen, any inhabitant of this state may take with a <br /> permit, one-half a bushel of clams or quahaugs, including <br /> shells, per day, but no more than one bushel per week, and <br /> between October 1st and April 1st, both dates inclusive, one- <br /> half bushel of adult scallops, (including shells) per day, but <br /> not more than one and one-half bushels per week. <br /> 8. Any person to whom a shellfish permit for commercial <br /> purposes is granted, shall not take more than 4 bushels of <br /> quahaugs per day, nor more than ten bushels of scallops <br /> (including shells) per day. <br /> 9. The fees for shellfish permits for commercial purposes <br /> shall be $5.00. The fees for family permits to take shellfish <br /> shall be $1.00. <br /> 10. No fee paid for a shellfish permit shall be abated, <br /> nor shall any permit be issued without payment of the fee <br /> for the same, excepting to persons receiving aid from the <br /> Department of Public Welfare, Bureau of Old Age Assistance, <br /> or Soldiers' Relief, or to those who in the opinion of the <br /> Selectmen, by reason of physical disability are unable to <br /> make full use of the permit. <br /> 11. Except in the night time and excepting from areas <br /> closed to shellfishing by order of the Selectmen, any inhabi- <br /> tants of this state, or summer residents of the town, may take, <br /> with a permit, one-half a bushel of clams or quahaugs, in- <br /> cluding shells, per day, but not more than one bushel per <br /> week and between October 1st and April 1st, both dates <br /> inclusive, one-half bushel of adult scallops, including shells, <br /> Per day, but not more .than one and one-half bushels per <br /> week. <br /> 12. No soft shell clams shall be taken for any purpose <br /> within the limits of the foreshores, flats, and tidal waters of <br /> the Town of Mashpee, until further notice. <br />
