Explanation-, This article would extend the existing IC Industrial Overlay District to several <br /> parcels at the eastern and western boundaries said Overlay District. <br /> The Board of Selectmen does not recommend approval due to close proximity tote Town <br /> Cemetery and the potential commercialization of Great Neck Road South. <br /> Planning Board voted at a Public Hearing held on October 5, 2005 4-0 to recommend <br /> indefinite postponement. <br /> The Finance Committee supports the Board of Selectmen's position. <br /> Motion made by James Vacarro to indefinitely postpone. <br /> Motion to indefinitely postpone passes unanimously at 8-.58 PMO <br /> Article 26 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to delete Article 3, Section 3-1C (Eligibility) of the Mashpee <br /> Charter in its entirety and, replace it with the following: <br /> Article 3, Section 3-IC — Any voter shall be eligible to hold any elective town office, provided, <br /> however, no person shall simultaneously hold more than one elected town office, <br /> or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> Explanation: With the exception to "elected officials," being ineligible to hold multiple-elected <br /> offices, Section 3-1C is vague in its definition as to who may or may not be eligible to hold an <br /> elected position. Any and all voters who wish to run for office should be given the inalienable <br /> right to not only run for office and be seated should they win, but also be able to continue in their <br /> day-to-day duties, no matter what position they hold. <br /> The Board of Selectmen does not take a position. <br /> The Finance Committee does not take a position, <br /> Motion made by Perry Ellis. <br /> Motion: I move Article 26 be voted as printed in the warrant, except for the phrase "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto". <br /> Motion is, defeated 103 opposed to 97 for at 9:08 PMS <br /> Article 27 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create a part-time 19 hour Custodian position at Grade 11, Step I <br /> under the Council on Aging and further to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or <br /> 25 <br />
