11/4/87 .4 <br /> In addition there was some concern as it related to the hydrological <br /> problems that existed in that area stemming back to the Sarakumitt Village <br /> and what impact with placing a roadway across, that portion of the wetland. <br /> They have with them this evening Mr. Bert Ketchum who is The Director of <br /> Planning at Briggs Engineering. Mr. Ketchum has some documentation that he <br /> will be submitting to the Board which sets forth various development <br /> schemes and proposals for the developmefl-tt, of the OSID plan which differs <br /> from the original plan that was submitted to the "Board. <br /> Mr. Kirrane stated that keeping in mind the Conservation. C(xmnission comments <br /> there may be a better development scheme which calls for a development of a <br /> roadway on the Southerly portion of the site. <br /> Mr, ' rrane thinks that it would be a waste of time if they get a roadway <br /> approve( on the, Definitive Plan which may not be the best roadway for the <br /> development of the OSID scheme and is a roadway which is located in an <br /> area which is set aside really as open space under the OSID Plan. <br /> They did obtain a variance from the Board of Appeals to vary the require- <br /> ment cf being able to locate a roadway in the so-called Conservation Area. <br /> They would like to go through the planning process with the Board. They <br /> would like to, more or less, postpone the need for the Board to make a <br /> decisicn on the Definitive Plan which is pending becausecit may very well <br /> be that the Definitive Plan should be modified and amended to develop a <br /> bet-ter plan. <br /> Louise asked that when you say access of the southerly 'portion of the lot <br /> are You resecting the very narrow strip of the wetland that <br /> was on the initial plan they saw. Mr. Kirrane stated this would , be the <br /> proposed location of the roadway. Louise stated at that time she under- <br /> stood their Engineer had consulted with Mr. , and he had stated <br /> the amount of wetland that would 'iiave to be filled in and replicated on <br /> the site such that he felt the State would have sericus objection's to it. <br /> Mr. Kirrane stated that is �-_,ne thing they would like to explore. He would <br /> like them to hear Mr. Ketchum abcut possible development alternatives and if <br /> it appears that they shcud medify the Definitive Plan they they would take this <br /> action. Louise stated that this proposed southerly access was not discussed <br /> with the Conservation Commission.
