In response to Mrs .. - ortla,ndt' s -sta'ternent that she, did not r..eceive notification, the Chairman explained the Public Hea:r}ing process to include notice in .the newspapers, the meetings are held in a public forum, and that the Town cannot be held responsible if cnerned parties are away a-t the. time of the scheduled meeting. The Chairman expressed he-r- concern regardi-ng the: -cormuni.cat ion (or lack thereof) between the speaker and Mr. Boh i.e. She suggested the two par-tie-s meet -for further -di'scussion of t-he matt-er and ,make an attempt to come to _ some undersit-anding1resolve. It was ag-reed that the said parking- space. be constructed to face the street rather than the unit owner' s. driveway. All parking spaces are to be completed by July , 2004 . The Chairman entertained a motion. MOTION : Steve I ol-an made a Motion to approve the plans entitled, "Proposed Sidewalks and off Street. Parking dated/reprised May 27, 2004 as submitted subject to: the addition of a single parking- pad to the left of the driveway of Unit #3 ; Arrows properly connected to the retaining wall are to be shown'. ,on the plan for clarification; and the Possible reduction from three to two space's at Windward Street; which Motion -was. -duly -seconded by Dennis Bal arin-i a-nd so voted unanimously. Public Comment The Chair -man then recognized Mal Malcom- son who requested the. opportunity to ask if uniform construction o all retaining walls along sidewalks identical to what exists between Kettle and Portsid on Pine ill oul-ev ard.. Linda Fletcher - Questioned long-te-rm -maintenance with reference to the retaining walls . The Town Planner spoke tb maximum height requirements of -foot 10-}i-ndhe s, no details have been provided for any of the, galls as to their design. In response Mr. Bonvie stated a building permit is not required as tie. structure is considered to be stable at anything ,less than 4-feet . l
