He men-ti n d <br /> the number builders within the boundary f the Town of <br /> Mashpee, being. , as listed on a Town of Mashpee (link-) <br /> website. <br /> Jim Parker, President of Cape Cod and Islands <br /> Association of Realtors, and property owner in the Town of <br /> Mashpee - speaking as the President of the- Realtors <br /> Association, he informed the Board of a Moto taken to hire <br /> John Seward to prepare a white paper. <br /> The Chairman acknowledged receipt of said paper. <br /> Mr. Parker stated the belief of the Realtors <br /> Association to be that a Town wide DCPC would have numerou-s <br /> dtimental effects upon- pirate property rights. He <br /> offered to work with the Board as soon as possible in order <br /> to share sometof their expertise as well as professionals <br /> they intend to hire in order to assist the Board throughout <br /> the process, if the Planning Board is so .inclined. <br /> He mentioned the fo-ll-owIng groups who will be <br /> sponsoring the Realtors Association,, being Massachusetts <br /> Associate n of l e.altors, Chairman of Government Affairs, <br /> CEO from Massachusetts Association, and the Government <br /> Affairs Coordinator. <br /> Mr. Parker stated his belief that the DCDP may be a <br /> useful tool for the Town in resolving some of the growth <br /> issues . <br /> John Seward, Principle of Community Design <br /> Partnerrship, a Planning and Architectural firm located in <br /> Boston - Agreed that a DCPC nomination process in general <br /> can be a very powerful a-nd effective tool; it can also have <br /> detrimental effects and impacts on the community. He feels <br /> the community should be made fully aware of any potential <br /> problems prior to proceeding any further and crafting the <br /> specifics the application. <br /> Mr. Seward stated the greatest issue to be that the <br /> Town would be fundamentally "'giving up a great deal of its <br /> own control over its development and regulatory policy.
